The beating of the POISON HEART

Formed in 2010, Warsaw punk’n’rollers from POISON HEART are back with a new drummer and highly anticipated new album! Titled “Wasted”, the record will be released in cooperation with Zodiac Killer Records, who have issued a nice introduction to the band: “They carry on the tradition of ALL ZKR bands in that THEY FUCKING ROCK! Rock and Roll in alla the right places. If you are tired of all the cliched stuff, come on over here and try some of this FRESH ROCK ACTION. Made up of some hard drinking PUNKS and SKINS from a not -too good section of Warsaw, this band and this release come ROARING out of POLAND as a shot fired across the bow of mediocrity. Having quoted , I have the great pleasure to share my newest interview with POISON HEART and let you into a couple of secrets the band will be bringing out very soon! Go!

[EN] Hey gentlemen! Thanks a lot for reaching out! What brings you to my humble abode? Can it be that you’ve just started promoting your new outing?

[PL] Hej Panowie! Dzięki wielkie za wyciągnięcie ręki i kontakt! Co sprowadza Was w me niskie progi? Czyżbyście ruszyli na bogato z promocją? :)

[EN]Hi, we just saw the news on your website about us and our issue and we wanted to correct some information :) and promotion, by the way.

[PL] Cześć, po prostu zobaczyliśmy newsa na twojej stronie o nas i naszym wydawnictwie i chcieliśmy sprostować nieco informacje :) a promocja, swoją drogą.

[EN] Very well :) So, tell me what’s new. You have a new drummer, right? How come?

[PL] Bardzo dobrze :) Powiedzcie więc co nowego. Macie nowego bębniarza, zgadza się? Skąd te zmiany?

[EN] Yes, now Michał is playing the drums. With Krzysiek, who was from the beginning, it’s a long story. Finally, we had to make the necessary changes to do recording and go forward. Certainly it was not an easy decision. Krzysiek closed a chapter in the history of our band, it was a good time.

[PL] Tak, teraz na perkusji gra Michał. Z Krzyśkiem, który był od początku istnienia kapeli to długa historia. Finalnie musieliśmy podjąć konieczne zmiany do tego, żeby nagrać płytę i pójść do przodu. Z całą pewnością nie była to łatwa decyzja. Krzysiek zamknął pewien rozdział w historii naszej kapeli, to był dobry czas.

[EN] Is it fresh news? Had the decision been made around September, by the time you teased a new album with a music video for “Wasted”?

[PL] To bardzo świeży news? Czy decyzja była już podjęta na etapie premiery teledysku do „Wasted”, który już we wrześniu zapowiadał Waszą nową płytę?

[EN] No, the news is not fresh, because it was announced June 12, 2013. We have just checked the date on Facebook to make sure, hehe.

[PL] Nie, no news wcale nie jest świeży, bo było ogłaszane 12 czerwca 2013 roku. Przed chwilą sprawdziłem datę wpisu na facebook, żeby się upewnić hehe.

[EN] Oops :D Sorry for the poor research ;) Ok, so tell me more about Michal. Has he drummer somewhere else? What does he bring to the band?

[PL] Ups :D No to sorry za słaby research ;) Ok, powiedzcie coś więcej o Michale. Bębnił gdzieś wcześniej? Co nowego wnosi do POISON HEART?

[EN] Michał came to us for a replacement to play a gig in Bydgoszcz, which in general we had been thinking of canceling. As it turned out, he remained for good because he felt it to the max. He played previously in different bands, but rather nothing serious. He was in the right place in the right time, who knows what would happen next. Now we are a complete band and fuckin’ great buddies. He Has another remarkable trait… he flames and steams at concerts :) Very rare thing … :)

[PL] Michał przyszedł do nas na zastępstwo, żeby zagrać koncert w Bydgoszczy, który w ogóle mieliśmy odwołać. Jak się potem okazało, został na stałe bo poczuł to na maxa. Grał wcześniej w różnych składach, ale to raczej nic poważnego. Znalazł się w odpowiednim miejscu i w odpowiednim czasie, bo kto wie, co by było dalej. Teraz jesteśmy kompletnym bandem i zajebistymi kumplami. Ma jeszcze jedną niezwykłą właściwość… płonie i dymi na koncertach!:) Bardzo rzadka sprawa… :)

[EN] Nice, I hope we’ll find out very soon :) Alright, back to your newest record, you are putting it out in copperation with Zodiac Killer Record from the States. How did you team up?

[PL] Super, mam nadzieję, że niebawem się przekonamy :) Dobra, wracając do Waszego nowego wydawnictwa, wydajecie je we współpracy z Zodiac Killer Records ze Stanów! Jak doszło do tej współpracy?

[EN] We wrote to Zodiac as a first step after recording the album. The response was immediate, because at 5:00 am Polish time;) It was one of the major label that, we took into consideration. We wrote even to one Swedish and some in Poland. Interest was only abroad. We chose the Zodiac Killer Records, because that was our first assumption. It was a bull’s eye, we have signed a 3 year contract, cooperation is very ok. ZKR has released: GG ALLIN, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, THE HIP PRIESTS, DWARVES, Roger Miret & THE Disasters … It could be a long list. For guys like us, it is the best place for cd release. This is our first full length album, we envy ourselves ;)

[PL] Do Zodiacka napisaliśmy po nagraniu płyty w pierwszej kolejności. Odpowiedź była natychmiastowa, bo o 5:00 czasu polskiego ;) To była jedna z ważniejszych wytwórni którą, braliśmy pod uwagę. Napisaliśmy jeszcze do jednej szwedzkiej i paru w Polsce. Zainteresowanie było tylko zagranicą. Wybraliśmy Zodiac Killer Records, bo takie było nasze pierwsze założenie. To był strzał w 10, podpisaliśmy 3 letni kontrakt, współpraca układa nam się świetnie. ZKR wydawał GG ALLIN, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, THE HIP PRIESTS, DWARVES, ROGER MIRET & THE DISASTERS… Można by długo wymieniać. Dla kolesi takich jak my to najlepsze miejsce na wydawnictwo. To nasza pierwsza płyta długogrająca, sami sobie zazdrościmy ;)

[EN] Awesome! Ok, so let’s dig more into the album. Is “Wasted” more like stoned and drunk, or rather fail and something lost? :)

[PL] Świetnie! Ok, to powiedzcie coś o samym albumie. „Wasted” to bardziej motyw urżnięcia, czy czegoś straconego? :)

[EN] The album itself is a variety of songs and musically and lyrically diverse. we wanted to tell both the pleasant and cheerful, and somewhat gloomy side of life – from getting load, through lost things. Wasted is a party with friends, deification of women, drinking for friendship, leaving the entire shit behind the back and proudly push forward, but also a hangover, moral and life decline, hatred and desire for revenge. The texts often have a personal dimension, but very versatile. We hope that one will find something in the album for oneself but the best would be if you like it all!

[PL] Sam album to różne utwory i muzycznie i tekstowo. chcieliśmy żeby opowiadały zarówno tej przyjemnej i wesołej, jak i tej nieco ponurej stronie życia – od miłego urżnięcia się, poprzez rzeczy utracone. Wasted to melanż z kumplami, ubóstwianie kobiet, picie za wspólną przyjaźń, pozostawianie całego syfu życia za sobą z tyłu i z otwartą przyłbicą parcie do przodu, ale także kac, upadek moralny i życiowy, nienawiść i chęć zemsty. Teksty często mają wymiar osobisty, ale bardzo uniwersalny. Mamy nadzieję, że każdy znajdzie na płycie coś dla siebie a najlepiej jak polubi ją całą!

[EN] You started promoting this record back in September last year. There’s a slight delay from the original date, isn’t it?

[PL] Promowaliście ten krążek już we wrześniu. Jest chyba mała obsuwa względem planowanych dat premiery, prawda? :)

[EN] Yes, the original plan was to release it in late autumn / winter. Unfortunately, our publisher was in the process of changing the Distributor and Agency working with him and a few other circumstances have occurred that affected the small delay in the release of the album.

[PL] Tak, pierwotny plan wydania był późną jesienią/zimą. Niestety, nasz Wydawca był w trakcie zmiany Dystrybutora i Agencji z nim współpracujących oraz parę jeszcze innych okoliczności wystąpiło, które wpłynęły na małe opóźnienie w wydaniu płyty.

[EN] Where will your album be available for sale? Are BestBuys and Wallmarts already standing open for you guys? ;)

[PL] Gdzie będziecie udostępniać ten album? BestBuy’e i WallMart’y już stoją otworem? ;)

[EN] Our publisher changing the Distributor and the Agency had just to achieve the widest possible availability of his publications. Therefore, CD will appear on iTunes, CD Universe, Amazon, and just in places like Wal-Mart and BestBuy.

[PL] No to ładnie :) Ok, pogadajmy o najlepszej promocji na świecie. W kwietniu gracie release show, który jest już chyba organizacyjnie dopięty, prawda? Powiedzcie coś o tym gigu.

[PL] Nasz Wydawca zmieniając Dystrybutora i Agencję, miał właśnie na celu osiągnięcie jak najszerszej dostępności swoich wydawnictw. W związku z tym płyta ma się pojawić na iTunes, CD Universe, Amazon oraz właśnie w takich miejscach jak WallMart czy BestBuy.

[EN] Nice :) Ok, let’s talk about the best promotion there is. You’re about to play your record release show in April. Is it already buckled up? Tell me more about this gig.

[PL] No to ładnie :) Ok, pogadajmy o najlepszej promocji na świecie. W kwietniu gracie release show, który jest już chyba organizacyjnie dopięty, prawda? Powiedzcie coś o tym gigu.

[EN] The main thing for us was that the release should take place over the weekend, when everyone will be able to get loaded, and in the morning will not have to go to work. We dealt with clubs, it was hard, but we managed to fix the date of April 5 in the „Tawerna Latający Holender” located Bema 65 in Warsaw (former No Mercy). We played there once and we like it there. Together with us you can see: 666 ANGELS, OLD FASHIONED, THE HOOCH, NOW AND HERE. All bands are our good friends, being for years on HC / Punk stage. We plan to make some t-shirts for release, when we get credit from Provident. It is possible that we will also record on a VHSa and for sure we will have CD with us ;)

[PL] Najważniejsze dla nas było to, aby release odbył się w weekend, kiedy każdy będzie mógł się urżnąć do nieprzytomności i rano nie będzie musiał iść do pracy. Kombinowaliśmy z lokalem, było ciężko, ale udało się ustalić datę 5 kwietnia w Latającym Holendrze na Bema 65 w Warszawie (dawne No Mercy). Graliśmy tam nie raz i bardzo nam się tam podoba. Razem z nami wystąpią: 666 ANIOŁÓW, OLD FASHIONED, THE HOOCH, TERAZ I TU. Wszystkie kapele, to nasi dobrzy kumple, siedzący od lat na scenie HC/Punk. Planujemy jeszcze zrobić parę koszulek na release, jak dostaniemy kredyt od Providenta. Bardzo możliwe, że będziemy też rejestrować na jakiegoś VHSa a na pewno będziemy mieli ze sobą CD ;)

[EN] VHS rules :) Are you hitting the road directly after the show? You played only 12 shows last year, so I guess this year’s “Wasted” tour will include at least 2x more stops? :)

[PL] VHS rządzi :) Ruszacie potem w trasę? W całym zeszłym roku zagraliście tylko 12 koncertów, a więc rozumiem, że teraz sama trasa promująca „Wasted” będzie miała 2x tyle przystanków? :)

[EN] Yes, 12 concerts per year so an average of one per month;) Maybe it was not a lot of these concerts but for us certainly were very valuable. We played at the Summer Riot, Bulwar Fest # 2, as a support for STREET DOGS and amazing concert with THE WOUNDS, there is something to remember … Regarding the tour, this topic is still on the desk. In August most likely we go to the Czech Republic for two concerts (Prague, Strakonice), then we think something about joint concerts with HELL NATION ARMY in Poland and Germany. We do not know yet exactly what awaits for us, our publisher is keen on helping us in organization of concerts, so we wait until the CD is released.

[PL] Tak, 12 koncertów w ciągu roku czyli średnio 1 na miesiąc ;) Może nie było dużo tych koncertów ale dla nas na pewno były bardzo wartościowe. Zagraliśmy na Summer Riot, Bulwar Fest #2, jako support przed STREET DOGS oraz niesamowity koncert z THE WOUNDS, jest co wspominać… Co to trasy, to temat jest cały czas na tapecie. W sierpniu najprawdopodobniej jedziemy do Czech na dwa koncerty (Praga, Strakonice), a potem myślimy coś o wspólnych koncertach z HELL NATION ARMY w Polsce i Niemczech. Nie wiemy, co nas jeszcze dokładnie czeka, nasz Wydawca ma nam pomagać w organizacji koncertów, więc czekamy aż wyjdzie CD.

[EN] Does it mean you’ve been automatically added to a booking agency?

[PL] Wpadliście z automatu do jakiejś zaprzyjaźnionej agencji bookingowej?

[EN] No, we do not cooperate with any agency. Sometimes NoOneLikesUs invites us to its gigs. The rest we handle ourselves through friendly bands.

[PL] Nie, nie współpracujemy z żadną agencją. Czasami NoOneLikesUs zaprasza nas na swoje gigi. Resztę załatwiamy sami przez zaprzyjaźnione kapele.

[EN] Ok, back to touring last year, how did you like Summer Riot Fest? I guess it wasn’t that much of a success since it wasn’t followed with a second edition, huh?

[PL] Ok, wracając jeszcze na chwilę do zeszłorocznych koncertów, jak oceniacie Summer Riot Fest? Coś chyba słabo wyszło skoro nie ma II edycji w tym roku, co?

[EN] Was it weak? It seems to us that the festival was perfectly organized as per our Polish terms and conditions. It is known that there was few shortcomings but the guys were doing it for the first time on such a scale. Little did I’m surprised that the second edition will not happen, because we would not do the festival for the second time only for 2-3 bands, hehe. I think this is a problem;) We had a good time there, we met a lot of old friends, drank some beers with LION’S LAW, they liked our music, it was really a fun;)

[PL] Czy słabo? Wydaje mi się, że festiwal był perfekcyjnie zrealizowany jak na nasze warunki. Wiadomo, że parę niedociągnięć było ale chłopaki robili to po raz pierwszy na taką skalę. Trochę nie dziwię się, że drugiej edycji nie będzie, bo sami byśmy nie zrobili festiwalu po raz drugi tylko dla 2-3 kapel, hehe. Chyba w tym jest problem ;) My bawiliśmy się tam dobrze, spotkaliśmy dużo starych znajomych, wypiliśmy trochę piwek z LION’S LAW, którym podeszła nasza muza, było na prawdę fajnie ;)

[EN] So what’s the plan to go across the big pond and achieve your American Dream? Is there any chance to schedule some dates in the States?

[PL] A jak wygląda kwestia realizacji American Dream, czyli wielka wyprawa za wielką wodę? Są szanse na jakieś koncerty w Stanach?

[EN] It’s unlikely in the near future. Our publisher will be happy to organize something but the recession in the U.S. is so deep that only large, well known bands persist on run and give lots of gigs. But we hope that at the end of this year, something will start and the beginning of 2015 it will be that;) For now, we care about what we can do here in Europe and this is our focus.

[PL] W najbliższym czasie raczej nie. Nasz Wydawca chętnie by coś zorganizował ale recesja w USA jest na tyle głęboka, że tylko duże, znane kapele utrzymują się na fali i dużo grają. Ale mamy nadzieję, ze w końcówce tego roku coś się ruszy a początek 2015 to będzie to ;) Na razie zależy nam na tym co możemy zrobić tutaj w Europie i na tym się skupiamy.

[EN] Recession my ass ;) Bands are touring, playing and I think it’s more about well planning and knowing the right people. Take Italy’s SVETLANAS for instance. They recently told me about their voyages and have just boarded a plane to the States again!

Alright, one way or another, I’m really glad you’ve become proactive again. You made us wait 2 years for your demo! Do you remember why it took you so long back then? How is it now?

[PL] Oj tam recesja :) Kapele jeżdżą, grają, to chyba tylko kwestia organizacji i przyczepienia się do odpowiednich ludzi. Przykładowo SVETLANAS z Włoch opowiadali mi ostatnio o swoich wojażach i teraz znowu lecą na c.d. tripu po Stanach!

No dobra, tak czy siak, bardzo się cieszę Panowie, że nabraliście, jak to mawiają, chyżości ruchów. Na demo kazaliście czekać Waszym fanatykom 2 lata (!). Pamiętacie dlaczego początkowo podchodziliście do tego zespołu na takiej wyluzce? Jak jest teraz?

[EN] Perhaps what they told about voyages has same to travel to the United States as the KGB to their true BIO ;)

The scenario that you wrote , suits us most , so far we are at the beginning of this journey .

For now, we focus on what we can do in Europe, and as it happens to have a concert in the U.S. , we will be glad to take it , and if the opportunity arises for this or that tour, we are already packed . Only you know how Ćwiara from REALITY CHECK, used to say ‘ stash should tie in’ and we cannot afford to stock up.

As for the demo , you’re right , the approach was to calm down but now we got a grip and do a really hard work to make the material really good. Changes in our band introduced the energy and all is going forward. The CD is not yet released and besides us and our publisher no one had ever heard it but new material has nothing to do with the demo , which one can hear by oneself. And for the next album we have 5 brand new songs, so now next CD may be faster than the current one;)

Summing up we are just entering this fucking thing and we are going to do little mess on the stage.

[PL] Być może to co opowiadali o wojażach ma się tak do podróży do USA jak KGB do ich prawdziwego BIO ;)
Scenariusz, jaki napisałeś, odpowiada nam najbardziej, póki co jesteśmy na początku tej drogi.

Na razie skupiamy się na tym, co można zrobić w Europie, a jak zdarzy się możliwość zagrana w USA, to chętnie z niej skorzystamy i jeśli nadarzy się okazja na taką, czy inną trasę, my już jesteśmy spakowani. Tylko wiesz, jak mawia Ćwiara z REALITY CHECK, ‘hajs musi się zgadzać’ i nie stać nas by do tego dokładać.

Co do dema, masz rację, podejście było na lajcie ale teraz naprawdę ciężko pracujemy i spinamy dupy, żeby materiał był mocny. Zmienił się skład zespołu, zmieniła się energia i wszystko ruszyło do przodu. Płyta jeszcze nie wyszła i poza nami i naszym Wydawcą nikt jej jeszcze nie słyszał, a nowy materiał ma się nijak do tego z dema, co będzie można usłyszeć na płycie. A na następną płytę mamy już 5 numerów, więc teraz kolejna może będzie szybciej niż obecna ;)

Reasumując dopiero wchodzimy w ten pierdolnik i zamierzamy trochę namieszać na tej scenie.
