TENGIL – “My Gift To You” video premiere!

1 min read

TENGIL is a young Swedish post-hardcore band (yes, it’s from Swden, so it must have post rockish soul), who are about to unveil their first proper full length record called “Six”! The digital version of the new record will be out on July 1st, CD on July 8th, and LP version will be released a bit later. “My Gift To You” gives you a promising foretaste of the full record and a solid dose of ambient, stunningly beautiful post hardcore. Read the official commentaries from both the band and Tokyo Jupiter Records and watch the video below!

TENGIL released 2 EPs: “The Ivory Garden” in December 2013, “Million” in May 2013 and a debut single “A Dead End” in December 2012. All of the tracks can be found at the bottom of this article.

Here’s the official word from the band:

We are Tengil, a constellation of musicians playing emotional, quasi-symphonic post-hardcore. With so many different influences to the band, a peculiar type of musical style has developed over the years, originating from raw and aggressive hardcore. Taking influences from not only the post-rock scene, but also a lot from musicals and classical symphonies, hence the genre written above.
In a period we have recorded our forthcoming debut album ”Six” which will be released 01/07/15 on the Japan-based record label Tokyo Jupiter Records. The album is a concept album, a collection out of six paragraphs following a non-linear narrative.
Following the release of the album we will be hitting the road as we currently planing shows in Europe and Japan.

Tokyo Jupiter Records commented:

Thank you for checking out the new video of Tengil. We’ve worked hard on releasing their debut album “Six” since we met them in January of 2014. They play a unique mix of post-hardcore and post-rock with a lot of musical influences. It would be one of the best young bands of the year for us. We’re going to release the CD version of the album on July 8th of 2015, and also we’re currently working on the LP version. Both the versions will be available here. Do not miss their impressive artwork for the physical releases too.
