Minor Threat were active in Washington, DC from 1980 to 1983. Ian MacKaye, Lyle Preslar, Brian Baker and Jeff Nelson formed the core line-up, with Steve Hansgen joining during the band’s five-piece period. “Straight Edge” supplied the phrase later used for a drug- and alcohol-free current within punk.
IDIOTEQ has carried footage from Lansing in 1982 and Chatsworth in 1983, together with a broader live-video collection spanning several performances. Later bands keep those songs in circulation too: Gallows played “Seeing Red” at Groezrock in 2012.
