Gab De La Vega is a singer-songwriter from Brescia, Italy, with roots in punk and hardcore. His official biography traces a move from loud bands into acoustic songwriting, followed by extensive touring across Europe, North America and South America. In 2019 he expanded the project into a full-band format as Gab De La Vega and The Open Cages.
IDIOTEQ has followed that path for more than a decade. Our coverage reaches back to 2013 and later documents the 2020 album “Beyond Space And Time”, including “YYZ” and “I Still Believe”. By 2023, our longer feature was already following the shift between singer-songwriter intimacy and a bigger rock-band setup.
That development continued through “Northern Lights”, “Innocence” and touring around the 2024 album “Life Burns”, released with Epidemic Records among the participating labels. In 2026, Gab returned to Canada for another run of solo shows.
