Progressive artsy post-punk rockers OUTER ROOMS premiere new song

1 min read

Toronto art punk rockers OUTER ROOMS are getting ready to release their debut full-length record and head out on the road for an east coast summer tour alongside fellow Torontonians TERRORISTA, and we are super proud to give you the band’s newest powerful tune called ‘Worldless Fantastic’, serving a closure to the album of the same name. Its beauty lies in the reframing of the traditional punk rock formulas and incorporating more progressive tricks and adding some new dimensions to the core spine of their nature.

“Worldless Fantastic” comes out July 8th on CD (via Bandcamp) and digital (via Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, etc.).

OUTER ROOMS is a post-punk trio from Toronto that combines keyboards, guitars and drums, all while singing, shouting, and clamoring to make as joyful a noise as possible. They’re loud, bombastic, and energetic—mixing influences like Cymbals Eat Guitars, The Dismemberment Plan, and Television into one powerful little package. OUTER ROOMS have honed their sound at over fifty shows over the past two years and already have a self-titled debut EP and a split single with Toronto punkers Terrorista under their belt. They’ll make you dance, sing, and yell at your friends for missing their show.

The band commented on the album:

Worldless Fantastic is our first full-length record. The follow up to our debut self-titled EP (Sept 2014) and split cassette with Terrorista (Sept 2015). It is the most faithful document of Outer Rooms in the band’s natural habitat: recorded in our practice space during a hot-as-hell weekend, we pumped out all of the songs we had to offer over the course of two days. We then headed back to our apartments to record vocals, additional guitars, and acoustic piano. Group vocals were recorded during a drunken dinner party at Andrew’s house. The whole package was completed with the addition of Britt Cutler’s artwork for the cover.
