“JAWS” – Norwegian progressive metal / post hardcore act KAMBODSJA premiere new track!

1 min read

The new single from Norwegian heavy rockers KAMBODSJA is an absolutely blistering return to the refined technicality and progressiveness of their tasteful blend of metal and post hardcore. The band is about to unveil their 4th album called “Stranger”. Slated for a September 16th release via Mas-Kina Recordings, the record will showcase an even bigger KAMBODSJA than we’ve heard before, catching their twisted natural performance and pushing their work in new directions. Check out the new track below and tell us what you think in the comments below!

The band commented:

“Jaws” is about depression. Imagine a man who´s waiting for a break-through in life. Only to see all his promising conceptions wash down the drain along with his self-esteem and general beliefs in life. This man thinks he can flourish but is stuck in a place where his presence don´t feel genuine unless he´s drunk or high on drugs. The locomotive-style and the content of the song is a ride of hopeless despair through the mind of the stranger. In other words: Kambodsja´s lyrics are not joyful. Ever. This song reflects both theme and title of the record aka “Stranger”.

Norway’s Kambodsja have established themselves as one of the most respected and hardest working bands in the underground scene since their formation over 10 years ago. After three albums and numerous shows across Europe, the four-piece group recently signed with Mas-Kina Recordings for the release of their fourth album “Stranger”, which is by far the band’s most ambitious and meticulously-crafted work to date. Packed with surprising hooks, blasting riffs and melodic madness, “Stranger” was produced by Øyvind R. Gundersen (Rumble in Rhodos, Hanne Kolstø, Atlanter), engineered and mixed by Christian G. Engfelt (Big Bang, Jaga Jazzist, Elephant 9) and mastered by Greg Calbi (Sonic Youth, Ramones, The Sword, Father John Misty, Explosions In The Sky).
