Introducing: TERAPIA DELL’ODIO, a new punk act from Sanremo, Italy!

2 mins read

As with most straight up hardcore punk records, it’s really impressive how much you can do with just a few chords. Sanremo act TERAPIA DELL’ODIO rubs tough hardcore bands’ noses by keeping it old school and bringing in a solid punk manifest. Raw as meat off the bone, this record is a strangely addictive collection of demos to listen to. Play it and scroll down to read my interview with the Andrea, Lorenzo and Alberto!

Welcome guys! What’s up? How are you? Please shoot us a brief introduction to TERAPIA DELL’ODIO. Who are you, where do you come from, and what’s the purpose of this project?

Hi Karol we’re Alberto, Andrea and Lorenzo from TERAPIA DELL’ODIO! We’re Italian, we came from Sanremo a little city full of flowers, disconfort and shitty people. Our project was born last year in may, our purpose is to explain what hate is.

How long have you guys known each other? What other bands have you been in?

We frequented the same school, Andrea and me (Lorenzo) have frequented the whole high school together, rejections too. Alberto is younger than us, he’s only 18, we met him 2 years ago. We arrived from different project, Andrea was the only one which played punk with the other his project 25 Degrees, Lorenzo played keyboards in some metal projects like ESOTERYA and LOSTINLUST and Alberto usually played jazz or bad music like 80’s rock. We hate him for this. We hate Hard & Heavy. It sucks.

Where did you draw inspiration from?

Oh, nice question, we draw inspiration from our ordinary life. Every person, every situation can become subject of our lyrics. Every lyric we wrote is about a situation or a person we hate so much, like vegans or Tumblrgirls. Our bassist has a Tumblr account, we hate him for this.

What do you write about? What are you trying to communicate in your songs?

We want to communicate our rage, our hate for a society which is collapsing. We wrote and we’ll write about every single thing disturbed our lifes. We wrote about loss of time, missing things and every kind of people we hate.

How is the Sanremo punk scene treating you guys? Can you expound more on your local music scene, how vital it is, etc.?

In Sanremo there’s not a punk scene but a generic alternative scene which few metal, punk, hardcore and screamo bands. We and our booking have changed something inside of it. Before us and another band the local scene wase empty, now there’s something.

Are there some cool local zines worth checking out?

There aren’t cool local zines enough, but we know that something is moving in underground! Some friends wanted to create a zine and we’re awaiting for it.

What local artists would you recommend to our readers?

Oh yeah, we recommend from the deepest of our hearts our friends ANTI-QUIET, a band which have shared with us some live experiences. A-Q is one of the youngest band of our scene, we love Angelo and Daniel, its members.
Then we recommend other bands like URAGANO, HAJI and PLATEAU SIGMA, they’re the most important bands of our scene and we like them a lot!

Ok guys. So what can fans expect next from TERAPIA DELL’ODIO? What are some things you’d like to try in the future?

What a nice question, soon we’ll return to record our new tracks. We have some idea, we are thinking about compilation and some split album with two or three bands. We want to realaborate our genre, our new tracks are deeply different from those which were contained in our first EP “Due minuti d’Odio”. Surely the quality of our records will be higher, we have big intentions.

Thanks so much for the introduction! Hope to hear back from you soon. Cheers from Warsaw!

Bye mateys, thank you! Be happy, we don’t hate you. Sincerely TERAPIA DELL’ODIO from Sanremo.
