Norwegian hardcore punks RISE ABOVE streaming new singles!

1 min read

One year after their debut EP “Sounds of Liberation”, highly energetic, politically charged Norwegian hardcore punk band RISE ABOVE are back with a duo of new singles, the latter of which, called “Up“, is premiering below + on Spotify! Produced in Bergen, Norway, by Esteban Munoz (Suicide Silence, Tirades, …), and mixed and mastered by legend Dag Erik Nygaard, “Up” serves a perfect follow up to last month’s “Gold”, and a thrilling rollercoaster of energy. Check it out below.

The band commented:

Up is a song about extremism. Every thought, idea, and motion that sets aside common sense in favour of a skewed world view. It’s about the people who, often very subtly, force others into the grasps of their own vices: «Pretenders of Salvation». Up is about confronting these issues and the people behind them. Because by ignoring and pushing them out of society, we will all fall.

Up and Gold are separate singles; a prequel to what’s coming. This is definitely not the last you’ll hear from us.

Lyrics:

right
turn the tide, as worlds collide
‘cus now we’re one step closer to a blanked out mind
don’t let it take you, no
don’t let it pull you in
as i as i as i sin

step up, step up, you’re free to walk around the earth, as all, since Sin’s introduction
step up, step up, free falling, stuck on a downwards climb

oh lord you know he died for all of my sins
and now the flames are burning your convictions

you’re fighting fire and i can’t tell if your mind is gone
pretenders of salvation
what will it take to burn the walls that took control

when it’s dark outside
we all run and hide in fear
all hope is fading
and we are stuck
on a downwards climb
downwards climb

yeah
you’re fighting fire and i can’t tell if your mind is gone
pretenders of salvation
what will it take to burn the walls that took control

step up
step up
step up
step up

Asked about their touring plans, they stated:

We’re always looking to expand and play more abroad. But, being DIY, our influence on venues and booking is limited. Any help and any thread is appreciated!
