“Class of ’92 Reunion Tour” rumoured to be in the works

1 min read

Another new online petition has surfaced. This time, it’s speculation of what may be the best tour ever featuring SOUNDGARDEN, FAITH NO MORE, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and KYUSS LIVES!, dubbed “Class of ’92 Reunion Tour”. Rap singer and former N.W.A. crooner Ice Cube is also on the bill as a “special guest”.

Punk Guy, the creator of the petition’s page, explains why the tour should happen:

Soundgarden, Faith No More, Suicidal Tendencies and Kyuss (aka Kyuss Lives!) are not only the best bands out there. They all helped save rock and roll 20 years ago and by then they were becoming superstars. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long. This is one reason why a “reunion tour” together is much deserved. Soundgarden, Faith No More, Suicidal Tendencies and Kyuss are all the best rock bands you’ll never forget.

He also added:

Soundgarden, Faith No More, Suicidal Tendencies and Kyuss have a lot of other great comparions between or with any other band. 3/4 of the bands all released defining records in 1992. Some of them went at least platinum, some had crossover hits, etc. Faith No More released Angel Dust, while Suicidal Tendencies released The Art of Rebellion and Kyuss released Blues for the Red Sun. Soundgarden had already released Badmotorfinger the year before, but they were still riding high with the success of that record in ’92, which eventually went double platinum. Soundgarden, Faith No More, Suicidal Tendencies and Kyuss would all eventually break up in the in the mid-to-late ’90s before they all had their own reunions. For some reason, Kyuss is now calling themselves Kyuss Lives!, maybe it’s because Josh Homme is not with them, but it is good that they’re back.

Ice Cube would be a great “special guest” for the “reunion” tour. He also had an album in ’92, that was his #1 record The Predator, featuring his famous hit “It Was a Good Day”.

The closest the world has got to having the “Class of ’92” tour together came in 1992 when SOUNDGARDEN and Ice Cube were on the bill for the second annual LollapaloozaKYUSS had also previously shared tours with FAITH NO MORE and SOUNDGARDEN in 1993 and 1995 respectively.
