BREAK EVEN release new amazing track! Reunion shows announced!

4 mins read

BREAK EVEN have just announced their 2015 reunion tour with HOPELESS, ENDLESS HEIGHTS, and POSTBLUE. The “I’d Rather Be Giggin'” trek features 15 shows and will be a follow up to the band’s January reunion show at Unify Fest.

To celebrate their comeback, BREAK EVEN have premiered a new single called “Young And Bright”! Stream it, love it, and share it!

Here’s the official word:

“We wrote Young and Bright with a sense of nostalgia about everything we had been through as a band and more so as people and how the music impacted our lives.

Sadly Break Even ended abruptly and we never got a chance to thank everyone the way we wanted to. We played our last show in 2012, but there have always been constant reminders of the music, to where it has never truly left our hearts.

Young and Bright is a thank you song to everyone who has supported our music, us as people and us as a band over the years. 2015 will see Break Even release the record we never got to finish. Without your loyalty and support, we wouldn’t be who and where we are today.
Thank you.

Lyrics:

Torn apart, from everything I once loved and now I’m lost,
Between giving up and holding on
It’s hard to let go, when you don’t know, what you have
Until it’s gone
It’s hard to let go, when you don’t know, what you have
Until it’s gone

The older you get the harder it is

I thought by now I would have figured it out
I try, I try my hardest
But it’s never enough to keep the dark days out

The older you get the harder it is

I thought by now, I would have battled my doubt
I fight, I fight my hardest
But it’s never enough to keep the dark days out

Now all the days, feel the same to me
The more I remember, the less I inspire
To be the person I wanted to be, to be the person you saw in me
With the voices in my head that have never left
Since the day you did

The older you get the harder it is

I’ve seen the end, to the edge
I’ve felt death before, and i know
If i never burn ill never learn and i will never grow
It’s hard to let go, when you don’t know what you have until its gone
It’s hard to let go, when you don’t know what you have until its gone

The older you get the harder it is, it’s never as tough as you might think
Don’t ever forget the days when the sun shined bright on your young heart

BREAK EVEN!

Having left a legacy in the punk and hardcore communities across Australia and around the world back when they disbanded back in in 2012, BREAK EVEN have re-grouped and returned with their new song “Young & Bright” while gearing up to get out on the I’d Rather Be Giggin’ Tour 2015. BREAK EVEN’s honest and heartfelt approach to songwriting left a lasting impression on the hardcore community, and “Young & Bright” speaks as not only a fond memory to these years, but a celebration of what’s to come.

2010 saw the first I’d Rather Be Giggin’ tour travel across Australia with one of the most impressive local punk/hardcore lineups the country had to offer, now in 2015 the tour is back stronger than ever hitting every capital city in Australia headlined by BREAK EVEN with HOPELESS, ENDLESS HEIGHTS and POSTBLUE. This stellar lineup of bands past and present will be one that the punk and hardcore communities will remember for years to come.

After keeping quiet for the past few years, the founding members of HOPELESS are together again and eager to share their reflective and naïvely optimistic brand of melodic hardcore for one final tour. Starting out in late 2007, five friends made a name for themselves through hard work on the touring circuit in Australia and abroad, writing well-received releases and being respected as a band that took nothing for granted. HOPELESS have decided to go out just as they started, together, and with a bang.

ENDLESS HEIGHTS are five friends with a passion for music and adventure alike. They have established themselves as one of Australia’s most hard-working bands, having toured Australia with music names of Basement (UK), Northlane, Trophy Eyes, Superhaven (USA) and In Hearts Awake amongst others. ENDLESS HEIGHTS pride themselves on a DIY vision and an honest aesthetic, and the band continues to grow, and grow, while making as many memories as they can along the way.

Rounding off the tour is Byron Bay’s own POSTBLUE, a young band with a sound that lurches between alt-rock and fuzzed-out shoegaze, paying homage to the 90’s greats. Releasing through Melbourne’s Poison City Records, the band has carved out a sonic niche that is unmistakably their own. They have an impressive amount of experience under their belts already, playing shows with the likes of Violent Soho, Title Fight, Luca Brasi and The Smith Street Band, at this year’s Splendour In The Grass festival.
