Vocalist/guitarist Louis Sarris commented:

Below you’ll find a new track off of Ape!’s latest album Hunting With The Lord. Entitled We Sleep Forever the song is one of my favorites to play because of it’s super punk rock beat and the noisy guitar solo. Actually all of the songs on the record have noisy guitar solos, but I particularly like this one.

On this record we wanted to take a different approach to recording than we had in the past by doing it ourselves. I recorded the album in our drummer’s bedroom, which at the time also served as our practice space. Just to make it more difficult for myself I decided to do it all to a Tascam MS-16 tape recorder. There were some headaches, but I had also wanted to record a full length for a long time, so I powered through it. I came out the other end having learned a lot.

I think that recording this one ourselves helped give it a little more character too. This is by far the closest we’ve come to recreating our live sound on a recording. It’s very loud, and very catchy. Of course there is no between song banter and you can’t see our costumes, but it paints a vivid enough picture of the fervor we instill in an audience.
